Loctite Threadlocker Sticks

Loctite Threadlocker Sticks

Loctite is a recognized leader in products for MRO – and their threadlockers are especially well-regarded. Now, Loctite has gone a step further and is offering their most popular threadlockers packaged a whole new way: threadlocker sticks. They can be easily carried in a pocket or stored in a toolbox.

The material hasn’t changed. But the packaging is entirely new. Loctite now has the first chemical threadlocking and thread sealing products offered in a semi-solid form.

The Products

  • Loctite® 248 medium strength blue threadlocker
  • Loctite® 268 high strength red threadlocker
  • Loctite® 561 PST® pipe sealant with PTFE
  • Loctite® C5-A® copper based anti-seize
  • Loctite® Silver Grade anti-seize

Loctite Sticks Have Many Advantages

  • Neat
  • Clean
  • Easy to carry and apply
  • No leaks or drips
  • Easy-to-identify with color-coded caps

Loctite sticks offer greater flexibility in overhead or hard to reach applications. They are especially easy to use on components that cannot be moved, and for pretreating bolts

Easy To Use

  • Just remove the cap, wipe it on, replace the cap, and toss it in your pocket or toolbox.
  • Rub product perpendicular to threads.
  • Completely fill the root of the threads at the area of engagement.
  • The required amount of stick product, as with liquids, is dependent on the fastener size.
  • Recap and store the stick.
  • Assemble fastener or fitting as required and torque to specified level.

Only Use A Little

  • Advance only the amount required per application, typically less than 1/8″. Note: This is likely far less than you may originally think!
  • Lab data indicates that 3-4 swipes spaced around a 3/8 fitting is adequate for sealing and strength performance. Larger fittings will require more product.
  • Rule of thumb – advance stick only as deep as the threads you are applying to.

Pick A Stick

Stick Usage
248 Medium Strength Threadlocker Stick Fasteners between ¼” and ¾”
268 High Strength Threadlocker Stick Heavy equipment; Suspension bolts; Motor, Transmission and Pump mounts; Bearing cap bolts & Studs
561 PST® Thread Sealant Stick Seals all types of metal tapered threads and fittings to NPT specs.
C5-A® Copper Anti-Seize Stick Copper, brass, cast iron and all alloys including stainless steel, all plastics and all non-metallic gasket materials. For bolts, bushings, pipes, fittings, flanges, gaskets, headers, manifolds, nuts, studs,
Silver Grade Anti-Seize Stick For protecting fine threads, snug slip fits or other closely mated parts. It can be used in high temperature areas up to 870°C (1600°F).

248 Medium Strength Threadlocker Stick
Like our 242® liquid, 248 Stick is a removable strength threadlocking adhesive, especially well suited for fasteners between ¼” and ¾” diameter. Parts can be separated using hand tools.

Features & Benefits

  • More reliable and cost effective than conventional mechanical fasteners
  • Prevents rust & corrosion while sealing and protecting threads
  • Removable with hand tools

Typical Applications

  • Machine tools and presses
  • Pumps and compressors
  • Mounting bolts
  • Gear boxes

268 High Strength Threadlocker Stick
Like our 262® liquid, 268 Stick is a high strength threadlocking adhesive. It offers heavy duty strength and performance for high strength applications.

Features & Benefits

  • High strength threadlocker eliminates loosening from vibration, shock & thermal expansion
  • More reliable and cost effective than conventional mechanical fasteners
  • Prevents rust & corrosion while sealing and protecting threads
  • Requires localized heat and hand tools for removal

Typical Applications

  • Heavy equipment
  • Suspension bolts
  • Motor, Transmission and Pump mounts
  • Bearing cap bolts & Studs
  • Formulated for heavy duty applications
