IBT Industrial Solutions has been selected by Baldor as a Distributor of the Year for Baldor-Dodge mechanical products. They are one of 2 distributors to receive the prestigious award for work completed in 2015 in the super-regional distribution segment.
“Baldor and IBT worked together throughout 2015 to achieve outstanding success in the growth of Dodge products,” said Kyle Sobke, Business Development Manager. “Proactive collaboration with our sellers has enabled us to bring innovative and reliable product solutions to our mutual customers.”
IBT Selected for Sales Growth + Local Engagement
The recipients of the prestigious Distributor of the Year award are selected by the Baldor-Dodge senior executive team, based on the following criteria:
- Year-over-year sales growth
- Local sales engagement
- Target account development
- Overall relationship
- Spiritual alignment between the companies
“We are truly appreciative of the relationship and teamwork we enjoy at all levels of the IBT organization,” Sobke said. “We look forward to enhancing this level of success in 2016 and beyond.”
IBT became a distributor for Dodge in the mid-1950’s. Company founder Forrest L. Cloud believed so strongly in the quality and value of Dodge’s product line that he personally drove to Mishawaka, Indiana to ask for the opportunity to be an exclusive distributor of Dodge products in the Kansas City area.
“Dodge was the first significant product line that my father, Forrest, negotiated for IBT,” said Stephen R. Cloud, Chairman of the IBT Board of Directors. “He realized that the ability to represent Dodge as a distributor was critical to our success. Indeed, securing that product line helped catapult us into being a major distributor.”
Forrest L. Cloud wanted the distributorship for IBT so much, he bet the executive at Dodge a Stetson cowboy hat that he could outsell the only other Dodge distributor in the area. 6 months later, Cloud won the bet. Today, after 60 years, that relationship is still going strong.
“Dodge is a recognized industry leader today, and their name is synonymous with quality and service. They continue to innovate and lead the industry in pillow blocks, flanges, gear reducers, and couplings, and numerous other product offerings. We enjoy working with them, and even after 60 years, it’s a thriving and mutually beneficial relationship.” Cloud said.
