IBT News

IMG_5747aFor the 4th year running, IBT Industrial Solutions shared its fluid power knowledge, products, and services at the AmCon Design & Contract Manufacturing Expo.  Fluid power Product Specialists David Leffert and Matt Kvacik represented IBT at the Expo, which was held May 3-4, 2016 at the Overland Park Convention Center.

“We always make high-quality connections with decision-makers at the AmCon show,” Leffert said.  “We also meet new suppliers with great solutions.”  He added that they met IBT supplier RT Dygert at the show a few years ago—who now supplies IBT customers with a variety of seals, o-rings, and engineered plastics.

Shared Booth with ARGO-HYTOS

This year, the IBT team shared a booth with Lisa DeBenedetto of ARGO-HYTOS.  The company is a worldwide leader in hydraulic system supplies, with 1,300 employees producing innovative fluid and motion control technologies, as well as filtration solutions.

“ARGO-HYTOS brings top-quality industrial valves and fittings to IBT’s customers,” said Brent Hanson, Business Group Director of Fluid Power at IBT.  “This was a great opportunity for us to share their valves, pumps, and filtration products with our current and future customers.”

Innovative New Technologies

The 2016 Overland Park show had 71 exhibitors and 700+ attendees.  One of the goals of AmCon is to educate participants about the latest cutting-edge products, processes, technologies, and innovations in the manufacturing world.  They bring together job shops, OEMs, and contract manufacturers to improve the overall buying experience for machining, fabricating, prototyping, and assembly—and have been hosting shows nationwide since 1987.

Leffert and Kvacik saw a variety of innovative new technologies demonstrated at AmCon this year, including laser welding and high-pressure water jets used to rough-cut parts out of solid steel.

The pair also enjoyed a demo on 3-D printing.  “We observed a team live-printing a 3-D crescent wrench that actually works,” Leffert said.  “We’d love to be able to incorporate that technology into IBT’s service offerings one day.”

Sharing Experience in Fluid Power Technologies

The team shared their experience in fluid power technologies with the 70+ visitors who stopped by the IBT booth—from companies such as Orbital ATK and Global Ground Support.  “We enjoyed talking to all the engineers and facility managers who stopped by our table,” Leffert said.  “It’s great to reconnect with old clients, and meet new ones.  Just about everybody who attends the show stops by our booth.”

IBT displayed a wide variety of fluid power technologies at the booth, including:
