The Midwest’s Biggest MRO Technology Trade Show Rolls into Kansas Speedway Sept. 11-12, 2013

MERRIAM, KS—August 13, 2013—For the hottest mix of maintenance and repair (MRO) technology, NASCAR action, and educational seminars, don’t miss Tech X 500—sponsored by IBT Industrial Solutions on September 11-12, 2013, at Kansas Speedway.

“We anticipate over 2,000 attendees from all across the U.S. for this year’s Tech X 500 trade show,” said Gary Hense, Director Training/Marketing Services at IBT.  “We’ll have something for everybody—whether you’re a maintenance technician, plant manager, purchasing agent, or plant safety specialist.”

65+ Vendors Showcase Hot New Technology
More than 65 different industrial vendors from around the globe will be in attendance to show off the latest technology in plant safety, conveyor systems, power transmissions, and industrial supplies.  Participants are welcome to preview the complete list of vendors in advance.

“This is a great way for us to show our appreciation to our customers,” said Stephen Cloud, Chairman of the Board at IBT.

20 Featured Industrial Seminars
The tradeshow will feature 20 live, 1-hour seminars on topics that help manufacturing plants and warehouses to save money, run more efficiently, and improve safety.  The seminar topics apply equally well to operations in many different industries, including:  food and beverage, warehousing, grain, oil and gas, shipping and logistics, utilities, heavy equipment, and more.

“The variety of seminars this year is amazing,” said Hense.  “We’re covering some of the industry’s hottest topics, such as maintenance, safety, troubleshooting, management, and leadership.”

Seminars are included in registration, but will have limited seating.  Hense recommends registering in advance.  Titles will include:

  • ARC Flash PPE as a Last Resort—preventing arc flash incidents, which cause 1 fatality and 5-10 burn incidents annually in the U.S.
  • Fluid Power Proactive Maintenance, Filtration, and Fluid Management—proactive fluid power maintenance; participants receive a 32-p. book on hydraulic maintenance
  • Four Levels of Leadership to Engage Employees—revitalizes workforce with a new sense of commitment and excitement

Started in 2006 as Anniversary Celebration
This marks IBT’s fourth Tech X 500 trade show.  The original Tech X 500 launched in 2004.  At the time, the company was looking for a way to celebrate its 55th anniversary.

“My mom and dad started the company in 1949,” Cloud explained.  “Back in 2004, we were looking for a way to not only say ‘thank you’ to our customers, but also tie in the vendors who’ve been a longtime, critical part of our success.”

The IBT team came up with the idea of hosting a racing-themed tradeshow at the Kansas Speedway.  The first event drew 1,500 participants, and Tech X has returned to the racetrack ever since.

“That first 3-day event was a huge success,” Cloud said.  “Now we’re really excited for the fourth one.”

Fast Cars—Richard Petty Driving Experience
The Richard Petty Driving experience will provide several free Ride-Alongs for the event.  Each Ride-Along includes 3 laps riding shotgun in the passenger seat in a 600 hp NASCAR car with a professional driver, at speeds of up to 155 mph.

“There will be many opportunities to win a ride, including several giveaways and fun contests throughout the event,” said Hense.  “The Ride-Alongs are such a big part of this event.  The sound of the cars going around the track really makes it feel like a NASCAR event.”

Advance registration for Tech X 500 is required at www.TechX500.com.  Access includes:
