Stop Bleeding, Quickly

Accidents happen. When the accident involves bleeding, either from lacerations, punctures or from nosebleeds, immediate first aid is important. Stop the bleeding quickly and the recovery begins sooner.

IBT Safety now has a safe and effective treatment to get employees back to work in less time. Biolife's QR products stop bleeding instantly for cuts, abrasions, facial and hairline lacerations and nosebleeds incurred on the jobsite.

Basic practices call for the use of gloves, for immediate handwashing, for the safe disposal of any materials exposed to the blood and for the use of antiseptic cleaners. Provide help for the injured person, but always be careful and avoid possible exposure to the blood.

IBT Safety now offers an immediate bleeding cessation topical powder, called QR Quick Relief™. It treats the wounds at the source, stops bleeding instantly and provides direct first aid benefits, such as protection against infection.

While traditional remedies such as gauze assist the clotting effort, additional treatments are usually required after bleeding is stopped. With instant bleeding cessation topical powders, complete wound care treatment is accomplished in seconds.

QR powder is poured onto the wound and combines with the wound's blood to create an instant scab. After light pressure is applied, bleeding stops, in most cases, in 15 to 60 seconds.

As in the case of gauze, instant bleeding cessation powders work for any person, even those who bleed easily, and on a broad spectrum of cuts, scrapes and degrees of bleeding. However, unlike medical styptic treatments, the powders work without damaging or burning the skin. Due to its success, the topical powder is finding its way into home first aid kits, travel bags, athletic fields and work sites. Instant bleeding cessation products are available through your IBT Safety Sales Rep.

How QR Powder Works

QR Powder utilizes a breakthrough technology that works with the body's natural healing mechanism to stop bleeding instantly on external bleeding wounds and nosebleeds. The combination of QR Powder's components, a hydrophilic polymer and potassium salt, interact with the blood and wound fluids to form an instant artificial scab.

After pouring QR Powder onto the wound, applying light pressure ensures that the powder is in contact with the wound bed. The hydrophilic polymer then absorbs the water from the blood, causing the polymer to swell. The potassium salt serves as a binding agent to form a protective scab. This instant artificial scab adheres to the wound bed, seals and protects the wound, and enables the body's natural healing process to immediately begin.
