What's It All About: General Industrial Products
The New General Industrial Products Group at IBT has been formed to further expand the range of goods that customers can buy from IBT as a single source industrial distributor.
 The fundamental description of "general industrial goods" is items that are not specified as specific replacement parts (like bearings, motors, gearing, etc.) in moving equipment, but fall into the area of items that are likely to be consumed in their routine usage in a factory or similar location.
What we call general industrial products have a wide breadth of descriptions. They include goods that run the gamut from one-half inch SAE Grade 8 bolts to 20 inch stretch film. The range also includes items as diverse as red safety paint for fire protection equipment and MIG welders.
General industrial goods, as IBT defines them, includes things like: fasteners; abrasives; cutting tools; hand tools; power tools; precision and measuring tools; paints and coatings; tape; pipe valves; pipe fittings; brushes and wire wheels; packaging materials; welding supplies.
As department head Jon Prince puts it, "Our philosophy is: 'If you need it, we'll have it.' Get it from IBT. Just ask us for what you need and let us help you."
IBT vendors include: Holokrome, Lane Punch, Mercer, Morse, Craftsman, KD Tool, Jacobs, Allen, Armstrong, Rust Oleum, Danaher Tool Group, Bondhus, SPX - OTC, Makita, Osborn Intl, Eklind, Milbar, Precision Brand, and Posilock. More lines are being added regularly.
