IBT General Industrial Adds Mercer Abrasives
As part of IBT's efforts to meet all customer demands for recognized brands and products of the highest quality available, anywhere, the General Industrial Products Group has announced the addition of Mercer Abrasive Products to its overall offering.
The Group believes that Mercer Abrasives will be of special interest to customers engaged in metal fabrication, general manufacturing and production finishing. The abrasives should also find great demand from electric and power utility companies and plant maintenance departments.
Mercer Abrasives breaks its line into four distinct product lines: bonded abrasives; coated abrasives; diamond blades; and files. Mercer asserts that each product represents the finest product available, because only the best raw materials are sourced and manufactured on ultra modern machinery. This keeps Mercer producing cutting edge products and offering IBT's customers very competitive pricing.
Bonded Abrasives:
Bonded abrasives are used on different types of material/applications which can include welds, all ferrous metals, stock removal, blending, steel, iron bar and pipe and stainless steel. The types of wheels are Type 1 Cut-Off Wheels, Type 27 Cut-Off Wheels, Depressed Center Grinding Wheels and Grinding wheel adapters and mandrels.
Diamond Blades:
These blades can be used in applications for tile, masonry, stone, granite, asphalt, brick and marble. They come in different styles from Continuous Rim, Segmented and Turbo. They offer fast cutting, high efficiency, wet or dry cutting and long life.
Coated Abrasives:
Coated Abrasives can be used on many materials ranging from wood, metal, glass, plastic and stone. Types of coated abrasives could include: 9x11 sheets; cut sheets; drywall paper sheets and rolls; sanding sponges; belts; custom belts; PSA discs; hook and loop discs; aluminum oxide disc; silicon carbide disc; PSA rolls; fibre discs; backing pads; flap discs; flap wheels; quick change pads; hand pads; shop rolls; floor sanding belts; sheets and discs.
Files:
Types of files: half round; round, mill - single cut; mill - blunt cut; flat; hand; aluminum; square; pillar; round chain saw; web saw; saw; three square; rotary lawn mower; warding; knife; lathe; curved tooth; wood rasps; half round cabinet; combination rasp; file sets and file handles. Some files offer three types of cuts: bastard cut - coarse teeth, second cut - medium teeth and smooth cut - fine teeth.
