Latest High-Flying Belt From Goodyear
Goodyear introduces Hawk Pd, the latest improvement to their long line of premium synchronous power transmission belts. It is designed to be a premium upgrade, replacing the 8mm and 14mm sizes of the current Hi-Performance Pd Plus™ line.
Made from the base compound Wingprene™, Hawk Pd is constructed from an enhanced polymer, increasing its strength and flexibility. It is also built with Goodyear's versatile, high-strength fiberglass reinforcement that's particularly well suited for synchronous belting.
Hawk Pd also has improved tooth facing for greater abrasion resistance than Hi-Performance Pd Plus. The net effect is that Hawk Pd has life expectancy that's at least 50% greater than Goodyear's previous Whitehawk Pd™ and 100% greater than their previous Hi-Performance Pd Plus.
Although popular HPPD Plus 8mm and 14mm pitches have been replaced with the Hawk Pd, 3mm, 5mm and 20mm HPPD Plus pitches will remain available, for now, in Goodyear's Hi-Performance Pd Plus line.
Goodyear has designed Hawk Pd as a true "drop-in" replacement for their own HPPD Plus and Whitehawk Pd. It also is "drop in" for Gates HTD, PowerGrip GT and GT2, Carlisle RPP, RPP Plus and TB Woods Synchronous QD*. Products are supplied with industry-compatible nomenclature for easy part number interchange.
With its upgraded materials and construction, Hawk Pd end-users will benefit from premium performance in a universal alternative. This will simplify belt selection while helping to reduce inventories.
Goodyear has even gone so far as to offer a guarantee on their synchronous belt products.
