The opportunity to get involved in a production project for the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce was a boon for IBT Media. Manager Craig Campbell values civic involvement -- as does the rest of IBT. This assignment gives IBT Media a chance to shine on the screen and in the organization, while demonstrating their creativity and technical excellence.

The first project undertaken for The Chamber was in connection with the "Top 10 Small Businesses of 2005." These are companies who have "demonstrated positive growth or sustainability of their business, progressive employee relations and a commitment to serving their community."

At the Small Business Celebration Luncheon on May 20., IBT Media's work was on display: an 18-minute production that showcased the CEO's of the ten finalists:
  • Anthem Media Group
  • Canterbury Preparatory School
  • Hoefer Wysocki Architects
  • MarketSphere Consulting
  • McCownGordon Construction
  • RCA Group
  • S&M NuTec
  • TakeTwo
  • Treat America
  • UPAC Insurance Finance

A second, more significant project is now underway, producing a major High Definition video as a highlight for The Chamber's 118th Annual Dinner in November.

The theme of the video will be Kansas City In Its Glory and it will feature the diverse features and energies that make IBT's hometown a rewarding place to live.

Content already planned includes showcasing the sports, entertainment and business life of the community. But, Campbell has some additional ideas, as well.

"There seems to be a tremendous amount of energy in new construction," he observes. "The IRS, H&R Block, The Kansas City Star and The Nelson Gallery -- as well as a number of smaller projects -- are coming out the ground. In addition, there are a number of significant new projects being announced and planned. This construction activity not only points out the vitality of our city, today, it will also have a long term impact on the economic and social life of the city in the years ahead.

"Plus, construction is very enjoyable to shoot."

Campbell is especially excited in anticipating the effect that the HD will have on the audience.

"We're shooting in HD, posting in HD and we will show it in HD. I am pretty sure that even those familiar with High Definition will be impressed. I can't wait to see the impact that HD will have on those less familiar with its quality.
