Lean Six Sigma:
Moving Ahead At IBT

IBT's Lean Six Sigma Business Process Improvement Initiative is moving ahead briskly. The first group of team members (Roger Nelson, Dennis Murphy, Kevin Thompson, Jon Prince and Pat Pollard) have been trained and certified and they have the company's first major project well underway.

That project, which will result in greatly improved policies and practices in inventory monitoring, will increase ROI while raising in-stock status throughout the IBT network.

Two new members of the team have been named. They are Alanda Franklin and Anthony Akin.

Franklin, an IT specialist, joined the company in January, and brought a green belt earned at General Electric along with her.

Akin, a former branch manager, has been tasked with developing a company-wide orientation and training program.

The core team is also actively seeking three additional operatives from within the organization. Candidate capabilities are evaluated on targeted attributes which show great promise of the "right stuff" to grow into possible "LSS black belts."
