IBT Superstore:
Now Open

IBT has built an industrial distribution Superstore at the Central Distribution Center, 9400 West 55th Street, Merriam, Kansas. The new store provides services for Northeast Johnson County customers and also serves customers of the Lenexa, Kansas location (14805 West 99th Street).
"The new superstore is an exciting development," IBT VP Marketing Jerry Hayes observes. "We have used all the knowledge and experience that we have offer through each of our branches and have backed it up with a building filled with our technical and application experts. They will be available face-to-face for customers, all day every day.
"Access to our huge inventory will be an even greater the advantage for our customers. With more than $15 million in inventory on hand -- more than 200,000 items -- customers will find what they need, when they need it.
"The enlarged depth of inventory on hand puts IBT at a major competitive advantage. Our industry requires prompt response to customer needs. Time is money, especially when expensive machinery is idled because a replacement part or component is missing. IBT's new situation can cut hours -- even days -- out of the equation.
"As part of the superstore being located within our warehouse, we will open a new and improved customer service desk. Our plan is to reduce order turn around time to the lowest possible minimum. With our extensive inventory, order fulfillment can be almost instantaneous."
