By The Time You Can See It, It's Too Late
Infrared Thermography Identifies Problems Early
When a mechanical or electrical component starts degrading, it can frequently generate heat. Typically, overloaded electrical circuits, loose electrical connections, poor lubrication, excess friction, bearing failure - and other similar situations - heat up before they shut down.
The problem is, you don't always know it. If you are not close enough to feel the heat - or if the heat is inside the component - the first time you become aware of the situation, it will be too late.
Infrared thermography can detect and measure infrared emissions. Measuring overall temperature and often more importantly, identifying temperature differences between components, can be an early warning system.
When something has failed, the idea of preventive maintenance is already out the window.
IBT IMT has a better way to deal with the situation: IR (infrared) Thermography.
By seeing a developing problem, pinpointing an existing problem, and preventing further degradation and damage, it is possible to avoid catastrophic failure. Even functions as simple as as finding a tank level or discovering insulation problems are easy with IR technology.
By the time the situation becomes visible to the human eye, it's probably too late. Equipment has sustained extensive damage, surrounding components have been affected and people may have been hurt.
IMT's certified technicians can close the barn door before the animals have escaped. Using proven IR Thermography, they have consistently identified potential problems, and been able to intervene in time to prevent serious failure, lost production time, damaged equipment and on-the-job injury.
Ask your IMT representative for more information.
