IBT Safety supplier Moldex has joined over 150 major corporations who have taken a stand against the use of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plastic in their products and/or packaging.
These leading companies have acknowledged the environmental concerns associated with PVC and have adopted PVC phase-out policies that reduce or eliminate the material from their products and/or packaging.
Moldex, whose lines of hearing and respiratory protection products are distributed through IBT, has introduced new products that are completely PVC-Free.
Moldex products have always been 99% PVC-Free, but are now 100% PVC-Free with absolutely no increase in price and no change in comfort or quality. The only difference is that the PVC has been eliminated.
Buyers get the same level of quality, comfort and cost they are accustomed to with products that are PVC-Free.
Reports indicate that toxic chemicals associated with PVC disposal in landfills and incinerators are linked to a wide range of health hazards.
When PVC is burned in incinerators, landfill fires, backyard barrels, building fires, etc., dioxins and other toxic combustion by-products are formed and released into the air and in ashes.
Dioxins are among the most potent and long-lasting toxic chemicals ever tested. Dioxins find their way into our food chain and our environment. If ingested, inhaled or absorbed in sufficient quantities, it can alter liver function, harm the immune and reproductive systems and cause cancer.
Like other corporations, Moldex has taken the “PVC-Free Pledge” to eliminate PVC from their products and packaging. Moldex has the only complete line of PVC-Free hearing and respiratory products.
Most Moldex products have always been PVC-Free, but now all Moldex products are PVC-Free. All with absolutely no compromise in quality and at no extra cost
