"Hot to the touch" is a pretty vague description, and a precise temperature measure is an important piece of information for maintenance - either for prevention or repair.

Timken has a newly introduced series of products that takes the guess work out of temperature determination - and makes it easy to know the answer to the critical "how hot" question, for sure, at the same time.

Timken Infrared Thermometers IRG 121, 161, 301
Timken's non-contact infrared thermometers are the perfect complement to other predictive maintenance techniques. Using them allows you to determine the amount of infrared energy being discharged by the object, and its emissivity. This determines the surface temperature accurately.

Non-contact infrared thermometers are ideal for dangerous or hard-to-reach applications where conventional sensors cannot be employed. They also provide a low-cost means of getting accurate and consistent temperature readings.

These thermometers couldn't be easier to operate. All you have to do is simply aim, pull the trigger and read the temperature. Because you have no contact with the hot surfaces or moving parts, measuring the temperature will be safer, faster and easier. Design attributes inlcude:
