2006 Greater Kansas City Classic
The golf gods must have been smiling on the Nicklaus Golf Club at LionsGate when the 2006 edition of the Champions Pro Golf Tour, The Greater Kansas City Classic, managed to go its entire seven day run (June 26 to July 2) without a single rain delay.

This is the first time the event has been able to avoid the rain in nearly ten years.

IBT had a great vantage point for the tournament proceedings, as a co-sponsor. They shared accommodations over looking the eighteenth fairway and hole with vendors: Goodyear, SKF, Siemens, Rockwell, MCR Safety and Drives, Inc.
The contest was a big win for Dana Quigley, who nailed his second straight win at this tourney.

Quigley tied a course record by shooting 9-under-par 63 for a three-stroke victory over David Edwards in the Greater Kansas City Golf Classic on Sunday.

The 59-year-old Massachusetts native, who won the tournament in 2000 and last year, had nine birdies and nine pars in what he called his "dream round.'' He had six birdies and three pars on the front nine and took the lead for good with a birdie putt on No. 9.
